Event Information

Wine Island is a 4 day wine festival taking place on Clark Island, Sydney Harbour on Thursday 10 Nov – Sunday 13 Nov, 2016.

Wine Island is a great way to experience a luxurious island getaway – offering unique wines in a unique island setting – without needing a passport. This exquisite yet relatively untouched paradise is a small island (with big dreams) so only a limited number of ‘holiday-makers’ can attend each session, always giving Wine Island that first-class feel. Relaxed seating areas and hammocks will complement the stunning harbour backdrop and provide deluxe spaces for everyone to ‘drink’ in the festival atmosphere.

All holiday-makers will be transferred by ferry from Man O War Steps, Sydney Opera House (East). You will be welcomed aboard the Bubbles Boats with a glass of Rotari sparkling for the short journey over to Wine Island.  Once on the island, you’ll sip your way through a selection of over 100 new wave and classic wines, complementing the gourmet food on offer, all while listening to the perfect island soundtrack.

One of the joys of Wine Island is discovery.  Take a walk down King Valley Prosecco Road, where guests can play a bit of bocce whilst learning more about sparkling wine and adventurous Italian varieties from Dal Zotto, Pizzini, Sam Miranda and Brown Brothers.

Last year’s popular Masterclasses will also expand in 2016 to include Dessert Island where some of the world’s leading dessert wines will be matched to delicious sweets. We will also be introducing a Silent Disco Drops for those who like to match their music to their wine.

Island food will be provided by Banksii Vermouth Bar & Bistro (the first of its kind in Australia, opening in Barangaroo in September) along with Oysters Unplugged, Chur Burger, The Hunter Valley Cheese Factory, Italian from Puntino/A.P.E. and Dessert Jars by Rocco.

Across the four days, two sessions take place every day as a GA or VIP session. Please visit the TICKETS page for more information on times and inclusions.

Wine Island is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves wine, relaxing, great company and something ‘oh so Sydney’ in equal measure. It’s about combining our love affair with this beautiful city with quirky yet laid-back experiences with wine, food and culture. This is the place where you can feel like you’re leaving the city while entering the very heart of it.

This is a 18+ fully licensed event.

Cashless Service and Wristbands at WINE ISLAND

Wine Island is introducing Festival Currency in 2016 to ensure increased speed of service at the food and wine huts.  This means that all food and drink purchases at Wine Island must be paid for using Festival Currency.

No cash transactions are allowed.

  How will it work?

Holiday-makers will receive their wristbands approximately two – four weeks out from the Wine Island festival. Included in your wristband pack is an Activation code. This allows you to upload currency to your wristband so you don’t have to worry about doing this on the island.

Festival Currency wristbands can also be topped up on the island at the Festival Currency Hut or via roaming currency sellers. Visitors can simply ask an exhibitor to scan their wristband to find out how much credit they have remaining. Or you can ask  any of the roaming sellers or at the Festival Currency Hut.

What if I don’t use all the Festival Currency on my wristband?

Don’t worry!   To obtain a refund, you will need to email [email protected] by 5pm AEST Monday 14 November, 2016 with your wristband Activation code.  Refunds can take up to 14 days to process.

Please note: No refunds will be transacted after this time.

Further information will be included in your wristband package.

For lost wristbands contact [email protected]. A fee of $25 will apply to replace at the wharf.

Experiencing difficulty ordering your tickets?  Try these troubleshooting suggestions:

  1. Update your browser – download the most recent version of Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, because our ticketing company is constantly updating their site to make the experience better for their customers and clients and sometimes older browsers have a hard time keeping up and processing orders.  In our experience these internet browsers perform the best with our updated site.
  2. Clear your cache including your browser history and tracking cookies – as you use your internet browser daily to surf the web, many sites force tracking cookies onto your browser to better cater ads to your interests (Facebook, Amazon, etc.). Over time these harmless bits of data can pile up in your browser’s cache and hinder credit card processing on our site. Each browser has the ability to delete these cookies permanently so please check your settings preferences.
